MWM Gas Engines and Distributed Power Solutions in Eastern Europe and Central Asia
The MWM brand stands for highly-efficient and eco-friendly combined heat and power (CHP) plants for distributed power generation. The German company, established in 1871 by Carl Benz and operating today under the name Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH, has more than 150 years of comprehensive experience in the development and manufacturing of gas engines and power generators for natural gas, biogas and other special gases. One of the most important milestones in the company’s history was the entry into the eastern energy market, which is of outstanding importance for the region’s economy and energy supply security. Since 2008, MWM has supplied gas engines with a total electrical output of more than 2 GW to Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

MWM’s product portfolio comprises gas engines and gensets in the output range from 400 kWel to 4,500 kWel. In this way, it is possible to set up power plants with an output of up to 100,000 kWel and more.
The gas engines can be operated with various types of gas, such as natural gas, mine gas, biogas, landfill gas, sewage gas, and syngas. They are designed for maximum electrical and thermal efficiency, low operating and service costs, and high reliability and availability. Thus they achieve efficiency of over 90 percent.
Cogeneration Power Plants: Produce Your Own Electricity and Heat – Independent and Eco-Friendly MWM Cogeneration Systems
A cogeneration power plant is a modular combined heat and power (CHP) plant solution for the generation of electricity and heat, which is preferably operated on the site where the electricity and heat are consumed, yet it can also feed useful heat into a district heating network. The advantage of combined heat and power over the separate production of electrical power and heat lies in the significantly higher utilization of the primary energy.
