Energy efficiency of greenhouse complexes

The All-Russian Forum for managers and specialists of engineering services of greenhouse businesses was held on November 17-18, 2015 with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Churilovo Agricultural Complex and Teplitsy Rossii Association. The subject of the Forum was the following: Energy efficiency of greenhouse complexes. Topical problems of the maturing technology of all-season vegetable cultivation in the modern greenhouse complexes.
Caterpillar Energy Solutions GmbH was represented by the Head of the Representation Office German Teplovodskiy and Commercial Manager Andrey Meshkov. As part of the business program, Andrey Meshkov made a report on the energy efficiency of power plants implemented on the basis of MWM gas gensets within greenhouse complexes.

Churilovo Agricultural Complex LLC was not chosen by accident. In a few years its specialists expanded the greenhouse facility’s boundaries to 25 ha and reached the production level of about 25,000 tons per year. This is a modern greenhouse company cultivating all-season vegetables and having a power plant with 2 modern MWM gas gensets (2 x TCG 2032 V16, 8.6 MW) implemented within it in order to generate electric power, carbonic acid and heat, thanks to which the facility efficiency nearly reached 100%. As in other power plants designed for greenhouses, the equipment can be integrated with the systems of heat recovery and СО2 production from exhaust gases for plant fertilization in greenhouses and for increase in productivity.
Within the framework of the All-Russian Forum a media tour was conducted at Churilovo Agricultural Complex on November 18, 2015. The tour included the visit to the powerplant and greenhouses.
