6,4 MW MWM power supply extension for company UGC “The Gold Mining Company”
Chelyabinsk / Russia, 23.08.2016
Together with the specialists of company MKS-Group from Chelyabinsk, Bernhard Niederegger, commissioning engineer of MWM Austria GmbH, successfully finished the integration and commissioning of the 4 MW power plant extension for company UGC, which is consisting of two MWM TCG 2020 V20 gensets. Each TCG 2020 V20 gas engine is providing 2 MW electrical and thermal power directly to the mining area, located in Chelyabinsk region. Company MKS-Group has organized the project design and engineering and rounded up their works by installing and delivering the MWM gas engines and equipment as containerized solution. Excellent coordination between the end user UGC, the local engineering company MKS-Group and MWM made it possible to deliver and start up this plant in less than six months, including the production, delivery and installation time.

Two installed MWM TCG 2020 V12 gensets assisting the island grid network
Some months earlier the same team has commissioned already a 2,4 MW plant extension at the same mining facility of company UGC. Same as the newly commissioned V20 gas engines the two installed MWM TCG 2020 V12 gensets are assisting the island grid network of the gold mine facility.
MWM gas engines fit perfectly for mining applications
The end user, company UGC, is one of the major gold mining and processing companies in Russia. As typically mining areas are located far away of sufficient energy infrastructure the solution of independent energy supply through MWM gensets fits perfectly for this application. High reliability and flexible load management is exactly what is needed for such usage. Company UGC is now operating four MWM gas engines continuously and has already ordered already another two MWM TCG 2020 V20 gensets, to be installed and commissioned by the same companies and team in a few months.
Medium voltage generators allow to connect the MWM gensets directly to the customers grid
