From Mannheim to Almaty

MWM—whose headquarters and production facilities are located in Mannheim, Germany—has been active in Eastern Europe and Central Asia for more than 20 years and is represented in the region by the subsidiary MWM Austria GmbH. The company was founded in Schwaz, Austria, in 2008. Since then, a highly motivated team from the fields of sales, project management, and services has been working on the realization of innovative and highly efficient gas engine-based cogeneration plants for distributed power generation. Together with the service workshop in Hungary—also established in 2008—and in close cooperation with its experienced distributors, MWM has been able to continuously increase the access to and supply of MWM gas engines and generator sets as well as to develop the range of services in the entire region.

Being closer to the customer is one of the main goals of MWM. With the opening of the new branch in Almaty in 2024, MWM Austria has established a permanent base for business meetings, customer support and training. The new office will greatly facilitate the implementation of the plans in the region and help to expand activities in the coming years. At the same time Poland and Switzerland were added to the MWM Austria region.

Now responsible for 29 countries, MWM Austria GmbH has delivered over 1,200 gas engines with a total electrical output of more than 2 GW to customers in this region, making MWM one of the most successful importers of gas engines in the output range from 1 to 5 MW.
